CAMBODIA

The Ministry of Environment has chided a foreign research university report that Cambodia is losing its forest. Ministry spokesman Neth Pheaktra said Cambodia has been able to preserve its forest to the extent it can sell carbon credit to countries to offset their carbon footprints. (Khmer Times)

The Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Public works and Transport have set up a plan to slash deaths and injuries resulted from traffic accident at least by 50% by 2030, a joint meeting of the ministries announced. (Khmer Times)

Many businesses have begun to recover since the government relaxed Covid-19 restrictions in the middle of this year and tourists began returning to Laos, according to a business representative. “At present, businesses which are doing well and growing fast are related to tourism,” the Vice President of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr Daovone Phachanthavong, said, (Vientiane Times)
