Lao researchers are optimistic about the growth of the Lao economy, which is projected to expand by 4.5 percent this year amid global economic challenges. The economic growth will be driven by the services sector in association with the growth of the tourism and processing industries and agricultural production for export, according to the latest report from the Macro-economic Research Institute of the Lao Academy of Social and Economic Sciences. The Government emphasised that the extension of e-visa validity to 90 days, three times longer than the current 30 days, will be an open-door policy in attracting more foreigners to visit Việt Nam as well as seek investment and business opportunities, creating a driving force to promote the country’s socio-economic development.
