Lao PDR will work with other ASEAN countries to develop regional policies on ‘green’ industries during a three-year period from 2018 to 2020. However, training people in the relevant skills for work in this area is a challenge in Laos.
Employment across Asean’s green economy grew by 3.2 percent over the past two years, compared to overall economic growth of 5 to 6 percent. This meant that almost 1.4 million new green jobs had been created.
