CAMBODIA‘s imports of diesel fuel and petroleum oil declined by 7.6 percent in 2023, according to a report from the General Department of Customs and Excise. The value of diesel fuel and petroleum oil imports totalled $2.17 billion last year, a decrease of 7.6 percent from $2.35 billion in the year before, the report said (Khmer Times).

LAO PDR: Some 3,548 young Lao people have benefited from Phase 1 of the Vocational Training and Employment Support Services project supported by the government of Switzerland. This has involved four years of vocational training and employment support, short course training, employment support for 1,263 people, and basic business training for 311 people, of whom 210 also received seed money for business start-up and coaching (Vientiane Times).

VIET NAM: With a positive economic outlook, the Ministry of Industry and Trade aims to increase exports by 6 per cent in 2024, running a trade surplus for nine years in a row, estimated at US$15 billion (Viet Nam News).
