CAMBODIA

  • The Ministry of Education is preparing to include topics on cyberbullying, sexual exploitation and other online abuses in the school curriculum. (Khmer Times)

LAO PDR

  • Laos faces increased challenges from currency depreciation and high inflation despite signs of economic recovery in early 2022, according to the World Bank’s latest economic update for the country. (Vientiane Times)

VIET NAM

  • Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on November 22 asked public security forces in general and those in charge of fighting drug crimes in particular to work harder in the combat in order to prevent Vietnam from being turned into an international drug entrepot. (Vietnam Plus)
  • The Ministry of Finance has put forward several environmental tax proposals on fuel and lubricant in 2023.  In the first scenario, in which global oil prices dip under US$70 per barrel, environmental tax is set at a ceiling of VNĐ4,000 per litre of gasoline, VNĐ3,000 per litre of jet fuel and VNĐ2,000 per litre of diesel. In this scenario, state budget collection is said to be unaffected. (Viet Nam News)
