CAMBODIA

The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training will work to release the minimum wage figures for 2024 before Pchum Ben, as the second tripartite meeting between the National Minimum Wage Council of the third mandate with unions and employers has not yet set a minimum wage figure. (Khmer Times)

The UN commended the Royal Government of Cambodia for its role in pioneering the “Global Catalan on Decent Work and Social Protection for a Transitional Justice” initiative, which aims to support the creation of 400 million decent jobs and expand social protection to 4 billion people worldwide. LAO PDR

Lao workers are leaving the country in large volumes, searching for employment opportunities abroad amid the skyrocketing cost of living. But in a delicate balancing act, the government of Laos is also trying to attract foreign investment in a bid to increase domestic production. (Laotian Times)

VIET NAM

Việt Nam’s consumer price index this month increased 0.88 per cent month-on-month, fueled by higher prices of petroleum, rice and housing, the General Statistics Office announced. (Viet Nam News)
