CAMBODIA

A new General Department of Information Technology for Public Finance Management under the Ministry of Economy and Finance was formed to harmonise and integrate the information technology systems used in Cambodia’s public finance sector. (Khmer Times)

LAO PDR

The Lao Prime Minister has directed authorities to take action to urgently address the country’s economic and financial difficulties amid continuing depreciation of the Lao kip, rampant inflation and high public debt. (Vientiane Times)

The number of teachers in state schools has declined across the country because the Ministry of Education and Sports has been allocated a limited number of new civil servants. This means that teacher training colleges have had to reduce their intake. (Vientiane Times)
