CAMBODIAN’s Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training plans to devote more resources to boost employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Currently, fewer than 1% of disabled people are employed in the country (Source: Khmer Times).

LAO PDR’s President has instructed the Ministry of Finance to spend any extra money on debt payments and civil servant support. President Thongloun Sisoulith issued the instruction when addressing a meeting to review financial work carried out in 2023 and the plan of work for 2024, held at the International Cooperation and Training Centre in Vientiane (Source: Vientiane Times).

VIET NAM‘s National Wage Council gave the green light to lifting the regional minimum wage by 6 per cent next year. The increase will be submitted to the Government for approval. If approved, the regional minimum wage increase will take effect on July 1, 2024 (Source: Viet Nam News). And, Việt Nam’s livestock industry set a production growth target of 4-5 per cent in 2024 and is expected to make up 28-30 per cent of the country’s agricultural production (Source: Viet Nam News).
