CAMBODIA

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said that the country’s economy is expected to achieve a 5.6 percent growth rate in 2023, up from 5.2 percent in 2022. (Khmer Times)

LAO PDR

The Republic of Korea, Ireland and other donors have provided 900 tonnes of rice for distribution to more than 100,000 people in four provinces who do not have access to guaranteed food. The rice was donated through the World Food Programme and handed over to the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare for distribution to households in 16 districts of Oudomxay, Luang Namtha, Xekong and Saravan provinces. VIET NAM

Việt Nam is seeking investment in clean energy as part of its scheme to develop a carbon market to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. Speaking at a recent meeting in HCM City, Karl Van den Bossche, Belgian ambassador to Việt Nam, said Việt Nam has potential to attract investment in clean energy which has an important role in achieving net zero emissions. Statistics from Hà Nội Department of Planning and Investment revealed that the city had to date attracted over US$69.84 billion worth of foreign investment, ranking second among localities nationwide. (Viet Nam News)
